BEYOND
SYNOPSIS
The
children in the border town of Las Cruses
start acting strangely. Defiant, sullen and dismissive of their
parents, they club together in secret 'cabals.' They appear to be
acting under the orders of a Higher Power. And it may be they are...
When sceptical hotshot journalist David Thornton
is solicited by a gang of hallowe'en door-to-door kids he knows something
is wrong. This is June. And the local clairvoyant, savant and tea
leaf reader, OLGA, comes on to him, trying to recruit him for a nameless
and mysterious task.
David pursues the story, following a terrified young woman, JANE, into
hospital. Jane is incoherent with terror and later dies after
warning David he is in danger.
Strange things are happening all over town and most adults are blissfully
unaware.
The Aliens, even with their highly
sophisticated technology, cannot survive on Planet
Earth. On their home planet they exist as pure energy with no
physical reality. On Earth,
gravity and atmosphere interferes with their existence. They tend to
explode unpredictably.
David slowly unravels a complex plot led by Olga, who recruits children
and adult academics, preparing for the Final Invasion of Earth. When
David's own son, JAY, who lives with David's estranged wife, seems to be
drawn into the magnetic web binding the kids together, David fears he will
lose his son.
With the help of SHERIFF HERRERA David figures out the flaw in the
otherwise all-powerful Aliens. In a standup duel to the death, David
defeats the Aliens leaders and they retreat from Earth.
Sanity prevails again on Earth.
Until the next time....
